History aims to educate our students about their own and others’ identity. History allows us to explore moral issues through the safety of the past. In addition to this History hopes to help students understand past events, learn about other cultures and religions, with an aim to build a better future.

Academically, History hope to educate our students in understanding key Second Order Concepts, which outlines questions about: continuity and change, causal reasoning, similarity and difference, and significance. Students should be able to construct informed responses that involve a thoughtful selection and organisation of relevant historical information. They should understand how our knowledge of the past is constructed from a range of sources and interpretation, and being able to critically engage with these when forming conclusions about events and individuals.
