Are you an aspiring teacher looking to be trained in a Sussex based academy? Look no further. The University of Brighton Academies Trust ‘Train to Teach’ programmes allow you to train here, at The St Leonards Academy – an academy committed to delivering careers education, information, advice, and guidance whilst believing that knowledge has the power to transform and enrich lives.
Open for Parents sessions running through November and December.
"Here at ‘Open for Parents’, we can offer help and support directly to the parents, FREE OF CHARGE, as part of East Sussex’s Early Help 0-19 Services provision. We provide a variety of online parenting courses, each with specific tips to help them deal with the most common behaviour problems.
This service is all run online, so parents and carers can join in from the comfort of their own home. All they need is a laptop, tablet or phone and internet access. And now booking on has become EVEN EASIER as school worker, keyworker or parent can use their phone to scan the QR code on the poster and book straight on!
It seems we are all going to feel the impact of the last eighteen months for some time to come: perhaps this is one way we can help you help the parents to help their children."
We were thrilled to welcome prospective parents, carers and children into The St Leonards Academy on Tuesday, 5 October. Our Principal Jon Francies began the evening by delivering a very warm welcome followed by Head Girl sharing her experiences and the endless opportunities pupils can discover throughout their time here. Our 2022 potential newcomers were able to explore the entire academy where they immersed themselves and their families into each subject, securing authenticity as to what life is like here, and what their new journey into secondary school at The St Leonards Academy will entail.
Our English department not only acted as a crime scene, played games of vocabulary Jenga and showcased the fantastic work produced by our Key Stage 3 and 4 students, they also provided each child with a book. In return, we were gifted smiles and pure enthusiasm. On the other end of our Academy, Play Sport UK came along to our evening to provide multiple sporting opportunities suitable for all, and science went out with a bang with their exhilarating experiments.
Thank you to those who came along to our Open Evening. We hope you had a wonderful time and that we fulfilled your expectations. We are looking forward to having you join our academy next year.
If you were unable to attend our Open Evening, don’t worry. There are still opportunities for you to visit our academy during our school day, where you can see us in action whilst being accompanied by a member of Senior Management Team who is there to guide you and answer all your queries.
Choosing a school for your child is an important decision and seeing us will certainly help you make that choice. Our Open Mornings can be booked on Tuesday 12, Wednesday 13, Thursday 14 October and Wednesday 20 October. These are at 9.15 – 10.00am. To book a place, please call us on 01424 448740.
