Personal Development, RE and Information Technology

In three words the aims of the Personal Development faculty are Wellbeing, Citizenship and Employability. The faculty’s subjects - Personal Development (PSHEE), Religious Education (including GCSE Philosophy & Ethics), Information & Communication Technology (including GCSE Computer Science) and GCSE Sociology - all have a role to play in the promotion and development of these three important aspects of a young person and indeed any adult’s life.

A longer mission statement of the faculty is ‘For students to understand how their learning fits in with the next stage of their education, their future employability, their local, national and global citizenship and their lifelong wellbeing’. We really want the students to both value their education and raise their aspirations by realising that the two are very much linked.
