What happens now?

Starting secondary school can be a daunting experience, so we aim to make this process as supportive and seamless as possible.

Every student will be visited at their primary school by a member of the senior leadership team during Terms 5 and 6 and prior to the taster days, all parents and students will be invited to The St Leonards Academy to meet with an academy leader. This gives us the opportunity to meet our new cohort and share key information about the academy and our values.

There will be a taster day during July 2020, where students will spend some time at the academy; attending a range of lessons, making new friends, meeting teachers and getting to know their way around the building. There will be plenty of opportunities to work and play outdoors, and students will develop skills in teamwork, creativity, study and communication. Dates will be confirmed in due course.

If you have any questions regarding transition, please contact Gail Ferguson, Academy Administration Manager. g.ferguson@hasla.org.uk
