The St Leonards Academy’ s Year 11 football team have ended their time at the Academy together in the best possible way by winning the County Shield final in a thrilling match.

Taking on a very good Patcham High School, the boys started on the front foot and dominated the first half taking a well-deserved 3-0 lead into the break with goals from Jack, Harryand Will. With the strong wind then coming at them, the game appeared to be turning as Patcham scored 2 quick goals.

The last 20 minutes was end to end and with 5 minutes to go, The St Leonards Academy supporters were in a jubilant mood as Jacob hit a 4th goal for the team. In an enthralling match, there was still time for goalkeeper Lewis to pull off an amazing penalty save to put the icing on the cake on a wonderful day for the boys and the Academy.

Man of the match was Sussex Schools representative Tom who ran the game throughout.
